COMMUNITY ROOM REGULATIONS
FACILITY AND EQUIPMENT

SCHEDULING AND USAGE POLICY
1.
The
Library Director supervises scheduling of the facilities. Telephone: 884-0593.
2.
Organizations/groups/individuals
must pay the rental fee when reserving the facilities unless special
arrangements are made with the Director.
3.
Smoking
is not permitted in any area of the building.
4.
Renters
will sign our standard use agreement and will be held financially responsible
for and damages to any portion of facilities, their contents and equipment
during rental use. One responsible
individual of the renting group/organization must sign the rental application
form and the use agreement form, indication the she/he will be financially
responsible for any damages to the rented facility or equipment. First-time renters must also provide a
Jenkintown reference known to Library Director of Library Board of Directors.
5.
The
Jenkintown Library reserves the right to refuse usage of the Community Room
facilities to any individual or group if, in the opinion of the Director, the
proposed activities are not suitable for the building or location.
6.
The
responsible individual signing the use agreement is charged with confining the
rental group to the area rented.
7.
Groups
composed of minors must be supervised by an adult who must physically be
present at all times, and who must sign the application and use agreement and
take responsibility for the actions of the minors.
8.
Users
may not install equipment or decorations nor make any alterations or adjustment
to the existing equipment or facilities without the express written approval of
the Director. No open flames are permitted.
9.
The
applicant group must have a certificate of insurance evidencing standard
liability coverage and must pay at reservation a refundable breakage fee
deposit of $100.00. At the discretion
of the Director, small groups may be excused form the requirement of presenting
a certificate of insurance liability.
The Library assumes no responsibility for personal injury to any
individual or group using the facilities.
10.
Renting
groups are responsible for all setup and cleanup of equipment and facilities used. The renting group must supply all materials
needed for cleanup (e.g., trash bags, paper towels, and detergent). No supplies or food are to be left in the
kitchen. Bags of trash (maximum = 3)
securely fastened may be left in the kitchen for disposal; in excess of 3 bags,
trash must be removed by renters from library premises and grounds.
11.
Table
and chair setup, arranging, and restacking are the responsibility of the
renting group. NO CHAIRS CAN BE
PLACED DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF EMERENCY EXIT.
12.
Renters
are responsible for carrying out stated closing procedures detailed on the form
received when paying fees.
13.
Emergency
telephone numbers are posted beside the thermostat in the Community Room.
14.
Fees: Community Room (4hours or less) $50.00
Kitchen

CLOSING
PROCEDURES FOR THE COMMUNITY ROOM
1.
Close
and lock windows.
2.
Set
back thermostat controls according to posted instructions.
3.
Turn
off all lights in the Community Room.
4.
Check
both lavatories for running water and turn out lights in both rooms.
5.
Close
the community room doors.
6.
Check
that the range/oven are turned off; refrigerator door firmly closed; sing
faucets are turned off.
7.
Leave
the kitchen CLEAN. Take your leftover food and supplies
(and trash in excess of 3 bags) with you.
Turn off the kitchen light. Pull
the kitchen door firmly closed.
8.
Turn
out the hallway light and the light outside the back door.
9.
Pull
the outside door firmly shut to self-lock as you leave.
