The mission of the Jenkintown Library is to promote reading and the free expression of ideas; to actively support the community's educational, cultural, business and technology information needs; and to manage and preserve the library's historical legacy.


Board of Directors

The Library Board of Directors, which consists of a maximum of 15 members, meets September - June on the second Monday of the month at 7:30 PM in the library's Community Room.

Friends of the Jenkintown Library

The Friends of the Jenkintown Library is a group of Jenkintown Library supporters who through hard work and dedication organize and supervise library fundraising events; preserve the library’s historical presence in the community; and act as an advocacy group for our library. Unfortunately, the Friends of Jenkintown Library is currently inactive. If you are interested in helping to restart this vital organization, please call the library at (215) 884-0593.

Our collection includes:
   Current adult fiction and nonfiction, best sellers and more
   Books for emergent readers
   Books for young adults
   Large print books
   Music tapes and CDs
   Books on CD
   Newspapers and magazines

And, if we don't have it, we'll get it for you through inter-library loan.

The Library's Pennsylvania collection is a repository of information on local history and culture.
